Product · VIDTREO Recorder

Press record. We handle the rest.

One component gives your users camera, screen and audio recording in the browser. Every take is encoded on their device, checked, uploaded, stored and transcribed — for one price per minute.

Try it · Live demo

This is the real recorder.

Not a video of it: the same SDK your users get, running in demo mode. Record your camera, your screen or just your voice, then download the take. It stays in your browser and nothing is uploaded.

Install · Minutes, not sprints

Drop it into the stack you already have.

Install the SDK, pass the API key of an environment and your users are recording. Quality, storage, watermark and transcription come from that environment's settings, so you change them without a deploy.

  • React, Vue 3, Nuxt, Web Components and plain JavaScript, typed end to end
  • One script tag from the CDN when there is no build step
  • English and Spanish built in, and every text can be replaced
$ npm install @vidtreo/recorder-react @vidtreo/recorder
import { VidtreoRecorder } from "@vidtreo/recorder-react";

export function VideoAnswer() {
  return (
    <VidtreoRecorder
      apiKey={import.meta.env.VITE_VIDTREO_API_KEY}
      onUploadComplete={(result) => saveRecording(result)}
    />
  );
}

Experience · For the person on camera

Built for the people who press record.

Most of your users record once and never read a help page. The Recorder walks them through permissions, devices and bad connections, so the first take is the one you get.

  • + Camera, screen or both

    Switch sources mid-take without stopping. On Chromium browsers the camera can float as a bubble over the screen.

  • + Voice notes

    Audio-only mode is a compact pill with a live waveform, a timer, pause and a microphone picker.

  • + Permissions, explained

    Blocked camera or microphone? Users get clear steps to fix it instead of a dead screen.

  • + Audio that's really there

    A live level meter, plus warnings for no signal, low volume or talking while muted.

  • + Countdown, pause and mute

    Camera and microphone pickers, and minimum and maximum lengths you decide.

  • + Phones included

    Fullscreen overlay, inline embed or the phone's own camera app. You choose the mode.

  • + Uploads that don't give up

    Resumable uploads pick up after a dropped connection, a reload or a crash.

  • + Your brand, your words

    Add your watermark and on-screen prompts, and rewrite any text to sound like your product.

One price · The whole pipeline

You don't pay separately for encoding, storage, delivery or transcription. This is everything that happens to each recording, and all of it is included.

Production · Ready on day one

Everything around the recording, already built.

Storage, sharing, events and an API are part of the product, not a project for your team.

  • + Your bucket or ours

    Keep recordings on our storage, or connect your own R2 or S3-compatible bucket and we copy every recording there after upload.

  • + Private by default

    Files are served through signed links that expire in minutes. Share pages can be private, invite-only or public.

  • + Webhooks for every step

    Ready, failed, transferred and transcription events, signed with HMAC, with retries and delivery logs.

  • + REST API

    List, fetch, rename, share and delete recordings and download transcripts, documented in OpenAPI.

  • + Environments

    Separate settings, keys and webhooks for each product or client, all in one account.

  • + Your data on every take

    Attach any JSON metadata when recording and get it back in every webhook.

Recorder FAQ

What does the per-minute price include?

Capture and encoding in the browser, upload, storage with zero egress fees, delivery, AI transcription and webhooks. You only pay for recorded minutes: $0.005 for audio and $0.008 to $0.015 for video, depending on quality.

Is transcription really included?

Yes. Turn on AI transcription for an environment and every recording comes back with VTT captions, word-level timestamped JSON and plain text, with the language detected automatically. It adds nothing to the per-minute price.

Which browsers does the Recorder support?

Chrome, Edge, Opera, Brave and Vivaldi 94+, Safari 26+ on Mac and iPhone, and Chrome or Edge on Android. Safari 16.4 to 25 works with some limits. Firefox and in-app browsers aren't supported yet.

Can users record only audio?

Yes. Audio-only mode records the microphone as AAC or Opus for $0.005 per minute. Turn audio on for the environment and set audioOnly on the recorder.

Can I keep recordings in my own bucket?

Yes. Connect an R2 or S3-compatible bucket to an environment. Recordings land in our storage first and are copied to your bucket in the background; once the copy succeeds, ours is removed.

What if a user loses connection during the upload?

The upload resumes where it stopped. The queue survives reloads and crashes, and only the missing parts are sent again.

How do I analyze what was recorded?

With VIDTREO Intelligence. A lens turns each recording into structured data and answers that cite the exact moment behind them.
